The 2023 Wagoneer comes along with two engine options instead of the one it was introduced with in the 2022 model year. However, like the 2022 Wagoneer, the 2023 model comes with a 5.7-liter V8 engine, delivering 392 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque. For enhanced power and efficiency, the 3.0L twin-turbocharged inline-6 Hurricane engine is standard for the Series II, Carbide, and Series III trim levels. The Hurricane engine pumps out an impressive 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque while running up to 15% more efficiently than larger V8 engines. Both engines are mated to a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels as standard equipment. However, 4x4 is available, offering superior performance in all road conditions with three of Jeep's most legendary 4x4 systems; Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II, with an electronic limited-slip rear differential.

The Wagoneer lineup has been upgraded with two new available options. The first is the Carbide Edition, an available package for the Wagoneer Series II trim. The Carbide package adds an exclusive blacked-out appearance, giving it a bold look and adding to the naturally confident look of the Wagoneer. The exterior of the Carbide Edition hosts Gloss Black on the headlight rings, grille rings, wheels, door sill cladding, side mirrors, and roof rails. Meanwhile, Diamond Black covers the seven-slot grille, front and rear fascias, and door flares. Stepping inside, the blacked-out appearance continues with Global Black leather seats with Smoke accent stitching. This grey-on-black theme is continued throughout the cabin. Other features include a three-pane panoramic sunroof, adjustable roof rail crossbars, a reversible cargo mat, and a cargo cover.

Another exciting update for the 2023 Wagoneer is the all-new available Wagoneer L. The Wagoneer L takes the already large size of the Wagoneer and makes it colossal! Adding a total of twelve inches to the Wagoneer's overall length, the Wagoneer L is a total of 226.7 inches long. Making way for the extra length, engineers stretched the wheelbase to 130 inches, which adds seven inches to the standard Wagoneer's wheelbase. This makes the exterior of the Wagoneer L noticeably larger. However, occupants of the Wagoneer L will enjoy even more space! Even in the third row, passengers enjoy a roomy 42.7 inches of legroom. Furthermore, the Wagoneer L offers 44.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and 179 cubic feet of passenger volume.

The legend of the Wagoneer name continues into the 2023 model year.
