For its 2022 model year, Jeep has announced its first foray into the luxury market. They've set out to create a collection of premium vehicles that stands on its own, adjacent to the Jeep heritage brand. The two vehicles featured in this new collection are the Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer. Of the two, the Grand Wagoneer the utmost example of luxury, refinement, and the American ideal, with stunning design features and cutting-edge technology from top to bottom. Design Features of the 2022 Grand Wagoneer
The Grand Wagoneer stands tall with a dignified presence with an upright design, wide windows from every angle, and Jeep's signature 7-slot grille. LED headlights and taillights are standard across the board, as are power-retractable side steps that automatically deploy upon opening the doors. Inside, the interior has intricate details like knurled trim on the rotary shifter, and real open-pore walnut wood accents along the dash. Seating features standard Nappa leather upholstery, which is swapped out for premium quilted Palermo leather on upper trims. The interior is elegantly designed, with ambient LED lighting, and active noise cancellation to maintain peace and quiet. The three-row seating offers either bucket or bench seats in the second row, with space for seven or eight passengers, respectively.
What is the New Tech of the Grand Wagoneer?
An integral part of the Grand Wagoneer's interior design is its state-of-the-art technology. The Grand Wagoneer features a premium 23-speaker audio system as part of an industry-exclusive partnership with McIntosh, including a 3D Surround System which mimics the acoustics of a live performance. Additional features include the newest-generation Uconnect 5 infotainment center with a 12-inch touchscreen, a Passenger Interactive Display, available Rear Seat Entertainment Displays with new Amazon Fire for Auto connectivity, an available full-color Head-Up Display, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot. There's also a wireless charging pad, as well as up to 11 USB ports and multiple USB-C ports to keep everyone connected.
How Capable is the 2022 Grand Wagoneer?
Last but certainly not least, the Grand Wagoneer has exceptional power and capability, with plenty of athleticism. The sole powertrain option features a 6.4-liter V-8 paired to an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, with 471 horsepower and 455 lb.-ft. of torque. The Grand Wagoneer also utilizes the signature 4X4 systems, the Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II, as well as its five-mode Selec-Terrain Traction Management System. The Grand Wagoneer has athletic approach, breakover, and departure angles, as well as 24 inches of water-fording capability. The available Heavy Duty Trailer Tow package equips the Grand Wagoneer with front tow hooks, and a best-in-class tow rating of 10,000 pounds.
