What is the Ram 1500 REV?

As we previously mentioned, Ram's goal with the 1500 REV is to have class-leading towing and payload capacity as well as class-leading range. Ram 1500 REV engineers have a goal of giving the electric truck more than 10,000 pounds of towing capacity to top other electric trucks. The truck's 800-volt EV battery pack will allow the truck to charge for up to 100 miles of range in as little as ten minutes when using a Level 3 DC Fast Charger. Additionally, Ram is aiming to give the 1500 REV 500 miles of total driving range on a single charge. Without using an internal combustion engine, the Ram 1500 REV still offers four-wheel drive with one electric drive module on each axle. Ram has made space in the areas that house the EDMs to provide space for larger ones for high-performance applications in the future. Ram has yet to release information about the 1500 REV's efficiency or power, but if we know anything about Ram, we're sure the numbers will not disappoint. The Ram 1500 REV will be available with four-wheel steering, allowing the rear wheels to turn up to fifteen degrees. This allows for greater maneuverability when entering and exiting parking spaces and passing through narrow sections of off-road trails. Additionally, it will feature a height-adjustable air suspension for better on-road aerodynamics and greater off-road ground clearance.

The Ram 1500 REV adopts many of the design notes from the current Ram 1500 while modernizing it to capture its electric power. This modernization can be seen from the front, with a newly redesigned illuminated 'RAM' logo on the grille. Flanking the grille, you'll notice crisp LED headlights outlined by LED strips forming a 'tuning fork' design around the housing. You'll notice that the grille is closed off, as there is no engine behind it that requires airflow. This adds to the modern appearance of the new truck. Speaking of the absence of an internal combustion engine, the Ram 1500 REV offers additional cargo space with a front trunk, or frunk, as it is known in the EV community. The frunk offers an innovative storage solution, easily-accessible power outlets, and weatherproof protection. These features are all drawn from the Ram Revolution BEV Concept truck. Meanwhile, the preproduction model of the Ram 1500 REV uses a slightly updated version of the current Ram 1500's crew cab body with a five-foot-seven-inch bed. The update of the cabin can be seen through its more aerodynamic design. The Ram 1500 REV will be available with Ram's multi-function tailgate for easy bed access as well as the RamBox external storage bin for even more cargo storage.

Ram is known for designing cabins to provide occupants with comfort and convenience, and the Ram 1500 REV certainly continues that trend. The Ram 1500 REV is set to feature many advanced technologies along with others that we know and love. The Ram 1500 REV's center stack will feature a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, similar to the one used by the current Ram 1500's higher trim levels. The current Ram 1500 offers available features such as wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, two-device Bluetooth connectivity, and more. These features, among others, will likely be standard equipment for Ram's first EV. Ram has said that the 1500 REV will come with more comfort and advanced technology than any other truck we've seen from them so far!
