It's summer in the south! School is out and vacations are right around the corner. This summer all parents should prepare themselves for the dreaded word "bored"! So, let's get started on plans to start a checkoff list on the Summer bucket-list!
Here is a list of adventures to start with in the first month of summer. A summer bucket list can keep your kids busy for many weeks to come!
·        Go on a picnic and discover what lives in the nearby creek. Do you know what animals make their homes in the creeks?
·        Dance in the rain! Eat watermelon! Read at least 10 books! Make homemade play dough! Finger paint a new summer shirt! Make a tie dye shirt! Have a pillow fight! Make homemade bubbles!
·        Make homemade ice-cream! Star gaze!
·        Be sure to also make a few magical summer memories for others. You can call ahead and some Nursing homes or assisted living locations will let you visit. First, make sure you have permission to come visit. Also check to see if permission can have to bring board games and cards. It may amaze you how much fun you can have while visiting with older residents!
·        You can also call your local humane society and see if they need volunteers to come help clean up and play with the animals. I am sure all the animals would love to have some loving attention from you and your family!
·        Ride your bike on a new trail! Jump in puddles! Have a family game night! Have a PJ movie day! Make cookies for a neighbor! Write a soldier a letter or sent a postcard!
Summer is a time for making memories, learning new things and taking time to just enjoy time with family. Be sure to take the time and make your summer bucket-list with your family soon, so you can start checking off all the fun things you did together this summer!
