2022 Dodge Challenger Trim Level Lineup
The Dodge Challenger lineup consists of seven different trim levels, with available options that bring the total number up to nine models! With so much variation, there's something for everyone to love. The base trim is the SXT, which is followed by the GT. Both of these first two models feature an available all-wheel-drive variant, in addition to the standard rear-wheel drive configuration that's standard on the rest of the lineup. This way, you can get a little extra traction when the roads get slippery. These trims are followed by the R/T, and the R/T Scat Pack. These models add an active exhaust system into the mix. Next up is the legendary SRT Hellcat, and the SRT Hellcat Redeye, both of which are available in Widebody models, which lends them a strong road presence thanks to an additional 3.5 inches of width, and 20-by-11-inch wheels fitted with Pirelli drag radials. Last but certainly not least is the SRT Super Stock, which is known for its outrageous speeds, and top-of-the-line performance. The Super Stock comes exclusively in the Widebody configuration.
What are the 2022 Dodge Challenger Engine Options?
Now that you've met all the trim levels of the 2022 Dodge Challenger, it's time to discover what makes them tick! There are six astounding engines in the Dodge Challenger lineup, offering a wide range of power and capability for the various trim levels. The SXT and GT come standard with a 2.5-liter Pentastar V6 capable of producing 303 horsepower and 286 lb-ft of torque. This is the first and only V6 you'll find in the lineup, as the rest of the collection is dominated by a variety of powerful V8's! Moving on to the R/T, you'll find a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 rated at 375 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque, followed by the 392 cubic-inch HEMI V8 under the hood of the Scat Pack and Scat Pack Widebody. This engine, nicknamed The 392, has an output of 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. For the final trim levels, we see three different variations of a 6.2-liter HEMI V8. For the SRT Hellcat, this engine supplies 717 horsepower, which bumps up to 797 horsepower on the SRT Hellcat Redeye. Just when you thought the power couldn't get any greater, the SRT Super Stock's V8 engine features a special calibration which renders it capable of producing 807 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque! It's clear to see why the Super Stock has been named the world's fastest and quickest muscle car!
What are the 2022 Challenger's Performance Features?
Naturally, it takes more than just a powerful engine to accomplish the feats the Dodge Challenger is known for! In addition to the high-powered engines, there are plenty of performance features that help the Challenger perform at its absolute best! These features start on the outside, with exterior elements that add style as well as function. These include cold air intake, a functional hood scoop, and Brembo performance brakes. There are also a number of systems that help with the Challenger's performance. The electronic active exhaust system helps create the iconic muscle car "growl," while the Race Cooldown system helps cool the engine even after the car stops running to keep it at an optimal temperature. Line Lock and Launch Control work together to help with straight-line acceleration, so that you can maintain the best possible traction as you pick up speed.
