It can be incredibly stressful trying to find the truck that best suits your needs when there are an overwhelming amount of options on the market to sort through. We have created this comparison review to help make the whole process less cumbersome. We took two of the segment's most popular models, the 2020 Ram 1500 and the Ford F-150, and we are comparing all that they have to offer. Keep reading to find out which of these full-size pickup trucks we think should call your driveway home!

2020 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

The Ram 1500 can be powered by one of three engines in the 2020 model year. The base engine is a Pentastar 3.6L V6 that produces up to 305 hp and 269 pound-feet of torque. The next engine is the available 5.7L V8 that generates up to 395 hp and 410 pound-feet of torque. Ram outfits these engines with mild-hybrid eTorque technology (optional for the V8) to boost the speed of the engine start/stop system and deliver more torque when the situation calls for it. The last engine offered is a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 that creates 260 hp and 480 pound-feet of torque. All engine options come paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. 4x4 systems are available.

2020 Ford F-150 Power & Handling

In the 2020 model year, the Ford F-150 can be powered by one of five engine options, and finding out which one works for you can be stressful. The base engine is a 3.3L V6 that produces 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. Other engine options include a 2.7L turbo V6, 5.0L V8, two versions of a 3.5L turbo V6, and a turbocharged diesel V6. Unlike the Ram's engines that are offered for all trims, the Ford's are only available for certain trim levels, making it more expensive to get the power you need.

2020 Ram 1500 Features & Design

Drivers can choose from six Ram 1500 trim levels. The base model is called the Tradesman and it comes with second-row in-floor storage, a 5-inch touchscreen trailer sway damping, keyless entry and ignition, a six-speaker sound system, 18-inch wheels, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. The upper trims add fog lights, an 8.4-inch or 12-inch touchscreen, Apple and Android smartphone integration, power mirrors and rear window, heated and ventilated front seats, larger wheels, a spray-in bedliner, leather upholstery, and so much more! Plus, there are tons of stand-alone features and packages available to outfit the Ram 1500 with even more spectacular features.

2020 Ford F-150 Features & Design

The Ford F-150 is available in six trim levels as well for the 2020 model year. The base model is called the XL and it comes with just the basics like manual windows and mirrors, pre-wired trailer connections, a four-speaker sound system, and vinyl flooring. The upper trims add a USB port, Bluetooth, an 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration, chrome trim, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry and ignition, and alloy wheels.

No need to second guess yourself, the 2020 Ram 1500 is the full-size pickup truck to choose! The Ford F-150 may sound like it has a lot to offer with so many engine options but they're tied to certain trim levels and all of those trim levels are not very well outfitted with features. The Ram 1500 can tackle the job and act like on office on wheels! Come on down to Pearson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram today to take a test drive in a Ram 1500 with one of our sales associates!
