What Engines Are Available for the 2021 Jeep Wrangler?

There are three primary engines available, with two additional engines available in the Rubicon 392 and 4xe special editions. The standard engine is the 3.6-Liter V6 producing 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Next up is the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine pushing out 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The last optional engine is the 3.0L V6 EcoDiesel. This produces 260 horsepower and an impressive 442 lb-ft of torque. The special edition 4xe combines the power of a 2.0L turbocharged I-4 engine with two electric motors to provide a cool 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The Rubicon 392 introduces a V8 engine to the Wrangler for the first time. The 6.4L V8 pounds the pavement and the trails with 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque to match. All Wrangler's come with Jeep's legendary 4x4 drivetrain. The standard engine is linked to a six-speed manual transmission, while an 8-speed automatic is an available option.

2021 Jeep Wrangler Design and Features

Jeep knows better than to drastically change the design of their iconic vehicle. Jeep has stuck with the round headlights, the seven-slot grille, along with the removable roof and doors design. While Jeep holds their heritage close, the Wrangler always manages to stay with the times. The 2021 model year brings standard features like a 5-inch touchscreen, push-button start, underbody skid plates, and the all-new Sunrider soft top with an innovative sunroof panel. Available on higher trim levels, you'll find things like a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 18-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, a front-facing off-road camera, front and rear locking differentials, electronic swaybar disconnect, and rock rails. Driver assists are also available, including blindspot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and forward-collision warning with automatic braking.

2021 Jeep Wrangler Capability

While it needs no introduction, there's a lot that goes into making the Wrangler as capable as it is. Five main factors make the Jeep so capable. The first is the maneuverability provided by the Wrangler's high-performance wheelbase and precise steering. More than 10 inches of ground clearance is made possible by the Wrangler's off-road suspension and underbody skid plates. The water fording capability is thanks to the air intake being positioned higher than it is on ordinary vehicles and sealed electrical connections. Axle articulation is what keeps your tires on the ground at all times. Speaking of tires on the ground, the last factor of the Wrangler's iconic capabilities is its traction brought on by the legendary 4x4 system possessed by Jeep.
