2021 Jeep Cherokee vs Toyota RAV4

When the time comes to get a new SUV, it can be tricky to figure out which one you need to meet all of your needs. That's where we come in! Our goal is to make sure that you drive away from Pearson Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in the vehicle of your dreams. We are going to be comparing two of the top SUVs on the market today, and seeing which one best suits you. The first SUV we're looking at is the 2021 Jeep Cherokee, which comes into the 2021 model year with an 80th Anniversary Edition option, a new trim called Latitude Lux, and additional standard driver aids. The 2021 Toyota RAV4 is the other vehicle, and receives no major changes, which means it's pretty much the same exact SUV that it was last year. To help figure out more information about these vehicles, continue reading down below!

2021 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

One of the very best things about the 2021 Cherokee are the three available engines that you are able to choose from. All three engines get FWD or AWD, depending on your needs, and a nine-speed automatic transmission! The base engine that you will be getting is a 2.4-liter inline-4, which creates 180 horsepower and around 171 lb-ft of torque. Sitting in the middle is a 3.2-liter V6 engine, which can create 239 lb-ft of torque and up to 271 horsepower. The final available engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4, which can get you 295 lb-ft of torque and up to 270 horsepower.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Power & Handling

Every single 2021 RAV4 model comes with the same standard engine. This engine is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, which can create up to 203 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard, although all-wheel drive is also an option. You will also be getting an eight-speed automatic transmission. As you can tell, there is a real lack of options here, and even the transmission isn't as impressive as we would like.

2021 Jeep Cherokee Features & Design

After figuring out the engine configuration that will make you the happiest, it's time to focus on the trim levels. The base trim, Latitude, includes cruise control, Apple CarPlay, heated side mirrors, Android Auto, blind-spot monitoring, 17-inch alloy wheels, and rear cross-traffic alert. Throughout the rest of the lineup you'll find features like dual-zone automatic climate control, Nappa leather upholstery, adaptive cruise control, remote start, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, driver's side memory settings, a wiper de-icer, Selec-Terrain, and all-terrain tires.

2021 Toyota RAV4 Features & Design

There are a few different trim levels you can choose from with the 2021 Toyota RAV4. The base trim, LE, comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite, a seven-inch touchscreen, LED headlights, and a six-speaker sound system. Other available features that you'll find in the lineup include a sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, blind-spot monitoring, dual-zone automatic climate control, hill descent control, selectable terrain drive modes, a panoramic sunroof, and a digital rearview mirror.

Conclusion:

We think it's pretty easy to tell by now which of these SUVs you should be driving home in. While the RAV4 isn't the worst vehicle on the market, the complete lack of engine options can't keep up with the three engines that are available with the 2021 Cherokee. You'll also get all of the features you need with the Cherokee, along with amazing off-roading capabilities.
