For a full-size sedan you can drop the kids off in, then take for a spin around the track, there's no option besides the 2017 Dodge Charger. It's a car that's meant for both speed and practicality, matching the power of its coupe parallel, the Challenger, while offering all the perks of a traditional sedan. More than half a dozen trim levels and four engine options let you pick and choose the power and personality you want in your Charger. Under the Charger's Hood
The 2017 Dodge Charger has four available engine options, ranging from 292 horsepower all the way to 707. The first is available on the SE and SXT trims and is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 24-valve DOHC, capable of 292 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and 260 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. If equipped with the Rallye Group, these numbers bump up to 300 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque. The Charger R/T and Daytona are both equipped with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with fuel saver technology, good for 370 horsepower at 5,250 rpm and 395 pound-feet of torque at 4,200. A third engine is installed in the R/T Scat Pack, Daytona 392, and SRT 392; it's a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 powered by SRT that provides 485 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 475 pound-feet of torque at 4,100 rpm. The Charger SRT Hellcat is equipped with a 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 Supercharged that is rated at 707 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 650 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. All 2017 Dodge Chargers come standard with rear-wheel drive, although all-wheel drive is available on the SE and SXT trims.
